The Bonnie Blue Flag was a blue flag with a white star in the center that was used as a symbol of independence and secession during the American Civil War. It was also the name of a popular Confederate marching song.

The flag was used as early as 1810 by the Republic of West Florida 
It was flown by the Republic of Texas 
It was used as the unofficial flag of the Confederacy in 1861 
It was flown above Confederate batteries that opened fire on Fort Sumter, starting the Civil War
