POW-MIA Flag S/R

The POW/MIA flag is a symbol of the United States' commitment to service members who are missing in action, prisoners of war, or unaccounted for. The flag is flown on certain days at federal buildings, national cemeteries, and other locations. 

 

When is it flown?

  • The flag is flown on National POW/MIA Recognition Day, which is the third Friday in September. 
  • It is also flown on Veterans Day, Armed Forces Day, Memorial Day, Flag Day, and Independence Day.
